Small Brands Grow with Social Media

Bacon Salt

Think your small brand and small budget can’t compete with the big boys?  Think again.  A recent AdWeek article tells the story of Bacon Salt, an idea hatched by, Dave & Justin, two Seattle friends and bacon aficionados.  Even before they had a product to sell they were floating the idea on Myspace and other social sites by targeting other bacon lovers.  Word spread and before they new it, Bacon Salt was a hit.  Their efforts even landed them a review on Uncrate, on of the fine sites we work with here at FM

What Dave and Justin found is the key is the conversation and keeping active in your community.  They also found that advertising on these sites also helped to amplifiy their message.  The ads serve to reinfoce the discussion about Bacon Salt.
